About Us

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated

Was founded January 16, 1920 on the campus of Howard University. During a time when our country was undergoing many hardships, our trailblazing founders sought to enhance the lives of those who were underserved around them. For over 100 years, we have upheld our Founders’ vision, setting ourselves apart as an organization built on the ideals of Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood and Finer Womanhood.

Omicron Xi Zeta Chapter

Was originally chartered on December 12, 1992 by five opulent graduate women who desired to serve Williamsburg and its surrounding Communities. It is with this spirit that the Omicron Xi Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated strives to serve. Since reactivating on October 19, 2019 our chapter has coordinated and volunteered in many service events. To learn more about what we do in the community please check out the other tabs.

Scholarship is the First Principle of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. Our Triumphant Founders believed in the importance of knowledge and education. To this end, Zeta has always believed in supporting those in a learning environment, from Elementary on up to the Collegiate levels. As a chapter, we have an Annual Scholarship Awards Ceremony to provide high school seniors with funding towards their collegiate education.

Service is our Second Principle and is at the heart of all we do- Omicron Xi Zeta Chapter strives to serve our community. We believe that small groups can make a large impact and our charge is to help others.

We have participated in The Salvation Army's Ringing of the Bell, Adopted and Distributed Angel Tree gifts during the holidays, Provided Thanksgiving Baskets, Donated non-perishable food to Avalon Center, Elder Care initiatives by celebrating and recognizing residents milestones at the Williamsburg Post-Acute and Rehabilitation Center. We have also collected, purchased and distributed supplies for elementary school students, held winter Supply drives, and participated in events such as the James City Health Awareness Event, The St. Jude & Breast Cancer Walks.
